The Backsplash
Most of my kitchen was definitely done as inexpensively as possible. With the exception of the granite countertop splurge, most everything was accomplished by Mr. Charming and myself on a very tight budget. The backsplash is definitely budget minded, yet it’s something I’ve wanted from the very beginning.
Honestly, I would beadboard my entire house if I was allowed!
It is the most simple of backsplashes. Cut to fit – apply adhesive to backing – use nail gun for added security – cover nails with trim. BEE-YOU-TIFUL.
Please excuse the under mount lights showing, the valance isn’t up yet! No window treatment yet either (sigh).
Here is a shot of some of the cabinet hardware These burnished bronze handles match the faucet and accessories.
So clean… So French Country
So really ugly !

ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! We are talking about redoing our kitchen. Are your cabinets and beadboard the same color white? Or are you cabinets an off-white? It's just so hard to tell, but it looks gorgeous!

I think you all did a wonderful job on a tight budget. Looks so expensive and high end. I really love the granite and the bronzed fixtures and oh yes, if I could beadboard my house all over, i would too.

Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI just became a follower:-) My kitchen needs a lot of help. We have tried paint on the back splash and now have wall paper which is beginning to pull away behind the sink. Can't afford to tile so I am thinking maybe beadboard.
Great site
Thanks!

Alright, just wandering around your blog full of eye candy - everything you touch is made perfect. Seriously. you've got some mad skills, baby.
ReplyDeleteSince you've had it for awhile now, I just thought I'd ask: how is the beadboard holding up? I love the look, but with a bunch of kiddos and my messy baking, I'm wondering if I'd be constantly picking out bits of stuff from between the grooves? Although, it's so pretty, I might not even mind.... ;)
I am thinking of putting in a bronze fauset, but my sink is stainless steel. But looking at yours, it doesn't look bad at all. (It looks like that's what you have) What are your thoughts?
