Autumn Coffee Filter Wreath

My mother has been trying to score the Fall Coffee Filter Wreath I made a couple of years ago.  So this fall I decided to make one just for her.

I have to admit gluing the filters on is not my favorite job, but decorating it is!  I just love the way these coffee filter wreaths come together.

I used a 12” foam wreath for this one… and a 14” wreath for the previous fall wreath.  I wouldn’t go any smaller than 12” or there won’t be much space in the center to work with.

One hundred unbleached, basket coffee filters can be bought at Walmart or your local Dollar Store for a dollar or two.   Count on using about 200 filters.  All decorative items were bought at Michaels.  The large apple green sunflower and two artichokes were chosen first as the focal point and then everything else chosen to compliment those.

Once all the filters are on the wreath, again start with your focal pieces.  All filters and decorations are hot glued to the wreath.

I always have stuff left from previous projects and I bring that box out whenever I do a  relevant project, ya never know what you’re gonna find!

Start arranging….

PLEASE NOTE:  Just like flower arranging, there is no right and wrong here.  Purchase the items you like, starting with focal pieces and arrange to your taste.  It's hard to give a tutorial on arranging flowers or items as it really is up to you and what you like.  You may also not find the exact items I used, and that's ok! Use what suits your tastes and arrange until you love it.  That's all the tutorial I can give you on where to place the decorative items.

I added a few little cinnamon scented pine cones that I found in my craft box.

I screwed one of these eye screws to the top of the foam wreath and glued around the hole to secure it.

I’ll enjoy it until mom comes to come get it.
